Ratoath 4-16 Summerhill 2-12

Ratoath’s Junior C Footballers put in an excellent team performance in beating the home side, Summerhill, on a hot sunny morning last Bank holiday Monday, 7th May.

The visitors wasted no time in getting on the front foot and for the most part dominated the first half to lead by 6 points at half time. The second half began Ollie Byrne’s charges continued from where they left off as they kept the scoreboard ticking over. That said Summerhill did have a purple patch midway through the second half and brought the margin down to 5 points with 12 minutes to go, but Ratoath finished much the stronger and were full value for this 10 point win. This victory was all the more impressive having beaten a Junior A championship outfit and was testament to the effort put in by all 17 players, as they recorded their first win of the league campaign.
