Bhain Ratoath le bua go maith thar Kilmessan sa roinn seo 1 bhabhta 2 coispirt a bhí i coinníollacha fliuch i bPáirc Sean Eiffe ar an Domhnach.

Ratoath’s senior hurlers got their first points on the board in this 2nd round league game played in wintry conditions on Sunday in Brownstown against Kilmessan.

Playing with the wind in the first half the home side quickly got into their rhythm and playing some slick hurling went into a 1-6 to no score lead after 7 minutes. After that Kilmessan stemmed the tide and with a number of points from frees gained a foothold in the game. Ratoath’s scores dried up with just 2 more points until half time to lead 1-8 to 0-4 at the break.

The second half was a much more low scoring affair that was brought to life with 2 goals from the visitors between the 45th and 50th minute. Ratoath held on with a couple of insurance points to carve out a deserved 5 point win.
