Ratoath 2-5 Na Fianna 4-16

The first round of the eComm Senior Championship took place at home in Ratoath Tuesday evening.

Na Fianna applied the pressure from the start with 2 pointed 45’s in the first 4mins . Amy Gaffney got Ratoath’s first score and despite 2 great saves from Niamh O’ Riordan NaFianna were 2-5 to 0-3 ahead at the first water break. Conditions deteriorated with heavy rain and Ratoath added 1-1 to their tally in the second quarter bringing the halftime scoreline to NF 2-9 Rat 1-4.

An early second half goal for Na Fianna seemed to give them an added determination and despite Ratoath’s efforts they could not keep the county champions at bay. The scoreboard wasnt a true reflection of the game as Ratoath fought a good battle in terrible conditions.

Ratoath will meet Boardsmill in round 2 on Tuesday 25/8/20 💙💛
