Junior C Championship

Ratoath’s second team enjoyed a comprehensive win against a competitive St Ultans on Sunday morning in Bective. The win earns Ratoath men a semi-final in the Junior C Championship.

This was a complete team performance from Oliver Byrnes’ men dominating from start to finish. A couple of early scores settled the Ratoath lads and they went about the game with efficiency and commitment for the full 60 minutes.

Ratoath dominated midfield and created a platform to provide numerous chances. While at the back, they dealt with the Ultans threat well. Half time saw a scoreline of:

Ratoath 1-14
St Ultans 0-4

The second half was much the same and a positive from a Ratoath point of view was that the substitutions made did not diminish the team in anyway. Ratoath continued on the front foot and racked up a further 12 points while only conceding 3 more.

The final score read:

Ratoath 1-26
St Ultans 0-7

As mentioned earlier, this was a complete team performance, but mention must be made to top scorers Nathan Dunne with 1-5 and Eoghan McMahon with 0-7.

Nathan Dunne 1-5

Eoghan McMahon 0-7

Tom Fadden 0-3

Colm Nugent 0-3

Andrew Gerrard 0-2

Aidan Murray 0-2

Peter Barry 0-1
