Trim 3-13 Ratoath 1-18
Trim held on to record a 1 point victory over Ratoath in this entertaining hurling game played in warm sunny conditions in Trim, on Sunday evening.
The game began with Trim getting off to a perfect start with a goal and take an early lead. After that it was pretty much score for score until 2 further green flags were raised mid way through the half for the home side and put daylight between the teams. The visitors did respond with a 3-pointer themselves as both sides cancelled each other out in terms of points. As a result at half time the scoreboard read 3-8 to 1-9.
It was Ratoath who made the better start to the second half reducing the margin to 3 points by the 40th minute. That said Trim were still keeping their opponents at arms length with points themselves and restoring that 5 point difference by the 50th minute. Thereafter until the final whistle Ratoath chipped away at the lead and came agonizingly close to getting something out of the game as Trim just shaded it by the narrowest of margins.
