Ratoath held out to beat Moynalvey in this competitive league game played in Brownstown on Wednesday last. It was Moynalvey who made the better start and were 2 points in front but Ratoath eventually settled into the game and got back on level terms. After that for the rest of the half it was pretty much score for score but Moynalvey did get their noses in front with a goal towards the end of the half to leave the score 1-5 to 0-7 at half time.
Ratoath made a number of changes at the interval with 5 subs being introduced and with that the home side upped their intensity and out scored their opponents. A goal in the 20th minute proved a crucial score as it put that bit of daylight between the sides and while the visitors battled till the end Ratoath’s defence remained defiant, conceding only 4 points in the whole of second half, and would eventually win the game by 3 points.
