Ratoath’s senior footballers recorded a convincing victory over Walterstown in this league game played in perfect conditions in Sean Eiffe park on Wednesday night, 10th May. The home side indicated their intent from the very start by scoring 2 goals in the opening 8 minutes. Thereafter the difference in skill and fitness between the 2 sides became apparent with a strong Ratoath team, including most of their inter county players, proving too much for a younger and lighter Walterstown outfit.
With the score at half time 4-9 to 0-5 the game was effectively over as a contest. The second half saw further dominance from Terry McGinnis’s charges with the highlight of the game being the contribution of Connell Ahearne who finished the game with a tally of 4-7, as his side ended up comfortable winners
