League Division 2

Ratoath emerged as 6 point winners in this tough entertaining match played in Ballinabrackey’s home ground. Ratoath playing a nice brand of football were always in control winning midfield for 70 per cent of the match and the half forward line worked and got a lot of breaks.

It was Ratoath who opened the scoring with a well worked move which was finished from 20m out to the net by Conor Rooney.  The home side responded with two points, but then Ratoath scored another goal from Colm Nugent. Two more points were added by Bobby O’Brien along with a brace from Brian Daly, though to their credit the men from Ballinabrackey kept in touch and tagged four from free’s half time 2 04. To 06

The 2nd half saw Ratoath again get out of the blocks early with a point from Cian O’Brien from a free and one from play from Conor Rooney. Both added to their tallies with another free and a 45 respectively, before a goal from Ben McGowan sealed the victory for Terry Mc Ginnis’s charges, for what was their 6th win of the campaign helping them to 2nd place in the league table. All in all a good team effort with up front Conor Rooney, Bobby o’Brien and Nugent all working hard, while Ben McGowan in midfield, Brian O’Connor, Enda Cahill and Emmet Boyle in defence, all featured well in this hard fought win.
