Ratoath’s Junior C Footballers dominated this Group A 2nd round championship match from start to finish, on this warm Saturday evening 23 June, in Paddy O’Brien Park, Navan.

The game began with Ollie Byrne’s charges wasting no time in getting up and running and helped by a goal from James O’Brien after good work from Tom Fadden, they raced into a 1-5 to 0-1 lead after 10 minutes. They continued to have the upper hand for the remainder of the half with Aidan Murray and Brian Daly sharing most of the scoring with some well taken points. This left the half time score 1-12 to 0-1.

The second half saw the men from South East Meath continue from where they left off from the first half, as goals from Brian Daly and Andrew Gerrard stretched their team’s lead. Moynalty then provided some resistance with 2 points of their own but were overran for the rest of the game, as Ratoath emphasised their superiority with further goals from Murray O’Brien (2), Micheál Mulvey. All in all an excellent team performance from Ratoath as they go top of the Group table with their second win from as many matches.
