Our U10 girls started their Camógie league campaign at home to Dunderry on Sunday. It was the teams first game on grass this year, and for some of the players it was their first time to play in an outdoor game. After a few minutes getting used to the sliothar sticking in the mud instead of bouncing up llke it does indoors, good striking and tackling was evident, from both teams. The play moved up and down the pitch constantly, which is a credit to the players given the heavy conditions. With a turnout of 9 players from the squad, all the girls played the full match. Some fingers got stung, but everyone finished out the match. At U10, Go Games rules means match scores are not kept, so here is an action shot from the match instead. See if you can spot the sliothar!
Thank you for all the support from the grown-ups on the sideline, it is appreciated, on what was a cold morning.
New players are always welcome. see here for information on how to introduce your child to Camógie.
